Supplication during the Night of Decree / Laylatul’Qadr

Written by Ismat. Posted in Ramadan

Taken from Tafsir Ibn Kathir

It is recommended to supplicate often during all times, especially during the month of Ramadan, in the last ten nights, and during the odd nights of it even more so. It is recommended that one say the following supplication a lot:

“O Allah! Verily, you are the Oft-Pardoning, You love to pardon, so pardon me.”
“Allaahumma Innaka ‘Afuwwun Tuhibbul-‘Afwa Fa’affoo ‘annee.”

This is due to what Imam Ahmad recorded from Aishah that she said “O Messenger of Allah! If I find the Night of Al-Qadr what should I say?” He (saws) replied,

Clarifying the Rulings of Zakatul Fitr
By the Noble Shaykh Saleh ibn Fawzan al-Fawzan
Translated by AbuAbdulMalik

In the name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Most Merciful

All praise is due to Allah who by His Favour has completed Righteousness, and Peace and Blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad who was the first of the predecessors to guide towards good. And Peace and Blessings be upon his progeny and his Companions, and whomsoever hold on to his Sunnah until the Day of Resurrection. Know that Allah (subhaanahua wa ta a’laa) has made Zakat’ul Fitr the seal of Fasting and we praise Him (Allah) for giving us this perfect realization. We ask Allah to accept from us and to make us from those who are protected from the Fire in the end. (Ameen)

How should the Muslim intend to fast?

How should the Muslim intend to fast?

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate

Question: How should a person form his intention to fast Ramadan? When should he have the intention to fast?

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

“The intention (niyyah) means resolving to fast. It is essential to have the intention the night before, night by night, in Ramadaan.”

(Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah, vol. 10, p. 246)

“Some scholars were of the view that in the case of a repeated act of worship, it is sufficient to

Why Muslims Fast

Question: I live in England, and I often get asked by many non-muslims, why do muslims fast? I know that I should know this answer, but I do not know what to say exactly. What should I give as an answer?.

Answer: Praise be to Allaah.

Firstly:

We Muslims fast the month of Ramadaan because Allaah has commanded us to do so. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“ O you who believe! Observing As-Sawm (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqoon (pious)”
[al-Baqarah 2:183]

Aspects Of The Days Of Ignorance (Masaa’il-ul-Jaahiliyyah)

Aspects Of The Days Of Ignorance (Masaa’il-ul-Jaahiliyyah)
Muhammad Ibn ‘Abd-il-Wahhaab

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate

These are the aspects that the people of the Days of Ignorance – both the people of the Book and the non-People of the Book – were upon, which the Messenger of Allaah, sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, opposed. They are from the matters that every Muslim is required to possess knowledge of. This is since with (understanding) one side of the opposite, the goodness of the other side of the opposite can be made apparent. And it is by (making apparent the) opposite of something that matters become clarified.

The most important of these aspects (of the Days of Ignorance) and most severe in terms of danger was the absence of faith (Eemaan) in the heart, for what the Messenger of Allaah, sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, came with. And if approval for what the people of the Days of Ignorance were upon is further added to this (absence of faith), then the total ruin is achieved, as Allaah says:

“And those who believe in the falsehood while disbelieving in Allaah, it is they who are the losers.” [Surat-ul-‘Ankaboot: 52]

The Muslim in Ramadaan

The Muslim in Ramadaan

In the name of Allah, the Most-Merciful, the All-Compassionate

Praise be to Allaah.

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’aan, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong). So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan i.e. is present at his home), he must observe Sawm (fasts) that month, and whoever is ill or on a journey, the same number [of days which one did not observe Sawm (fasts) must be made up] from other days. Allaah intends for you ease, and He does not want to make things difficult for you. (He wants that you) must complete the same number (of days), and that you must magnify Allaah [i.e. to say Takbeer (Allaahu Akbar: Allaah is the Most Great)] for having guided you so that you may be grateful to Him.” [al-Baqarah 2:185]
