Man Is Accountable

Man Is Accountable

Question: Will man have to account for everything that he does in this world?

Answer: Praise be to Allaah.

Each person is a pledge for that which he has earned (cf. al-Toor 52:21, al-Muddaththir 74:38) Whoever believes and does righteous deeds will enter Paradise and whoever disbelieves in Allaah and His Messenger will enter Hell. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Surely, those who disbelieved in Our Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), We shall burn them in Fire. As often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for other skins that they may taste the punishment. Truly, Allaah is Ever Most Powerful, All-Wise.

But those who believe (in the Oneness of Allaah — Islamic Monotheism) and do deeds of righteousness, We shall admit them to Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), abiding therein forever. Therein they shall have Azwaajun Mutahharatun (purified mates or wives), and We shall admit them to shades wide and ever deepening (Paradise)” [al-Nisaa’ 4:56-57]

Is the one who commits a sin and tells people not to do it a hypocrite?

Is the one who commits a sin and tells people not to do it a hypocrite?

Question: I have a problem, everyday i only communicate my feelings to people in order to get to Allah. For example; I feel guilty about a sin that i do and then i will regret it and ask for forgiveness constantly and only cry if i give an Islamic talk about it to warn people away from it. Every day i hate myself for only being able to express my true regret through people to Allah, i feel like im showing off and everytime i intend to do something, there is a battle between me an shaytan to do the intention for Allah. I am trying to stop speaking to boys in college but in my sociology class there are two practicing boys and everytime i talk about Islam i can’t say it out load but i wisper it in fear of showing off. I then only shout or say out load Jahil stuff but i become very easily worried about what people think of me. I show off in the deen and fear i shall become a hypocrite or be led astray, it’s a battle to do one deed for Allah sometimes and i feel like i can’t express to Allah my full regret without using people.

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

We ask Allah to make us and you steadfast in adherence to His religion, and to ward off from us the plots of the Shaytaan, for he is a clear enemy who seeks to lead people astray. You should note that enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil is one of the characteristics of the believers.

Watch Your Words

Watch Your Words

They say that if speaking is from silver, if you like to talk, it is equal to silver, then to be silent is equal to gold because we cannot as a human being control our tongues. And the biggest problem in this world is that people are not able to control their tongues from talking. And the Prophet Muhammad saw, he said, in the meaning of his hadith, tradition, part of the hadith is that “anyone who can guarantee for me,” he is saying, “can guarantee for me his tongue,” he didn’t say “his tongue” but he said, “what is between his jaws, I will guarantee for him Paradise.” Because you don’t know how you might address people and you hurt their feelings.

In the Name of Allaah, Ar-Rahmaan, Ar-Raheem…

All praise is due to Allaah. May the Salaah and the Salaam be upon Prophet Muhammad, his family, his companions and all those who follow him in goodness until the Day of Recompense, as to what proceeds:

Indeed the life of the Dunyaa is one of toil and struggle for the believer up until the time when he meets his Lord. It is for this reason that Allaah has enjoined patience upon His slaves and has made it such an integral part of the religion of al-Islam.

Most of us are fortunate enough to be born in a Muslim family. However, it is common knowledge that those who get something after working hard for it appreciate and value it so much more then those who get something automatically. It is for this reason why, most of us do not value, appreciate or even know what it means to be a Muslim.

Dealing with the fitnah (temptation) of women

Dealing with the fitnah (temptation) of women

Praise be to Allaah.

Allaah has created man in a world of trials and tests, and He has made Paradise the abode of His friends and beloved ones, who preferred His pleasure over their own and preferred obedience to Him over their physical comfort. And He has made Hell the abode of those among His slaves who disobey Him and preferred their own whims and desires to the pleasure of their Lord. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Such is the Paradise which We shall give as an inheritance to those of Our slaves who have been Al-Muttaqoon (the pious)”
